Well, I think its time for me to get into a creek boat. I started out hard shelling two years ago and my roll has become pretty bomber and i have a hand roll and i think its time i stepped it up. I started with an old perception 3d and grew out of that, now im running a liquid logic v.56 play boat. I love the play boat for big waves and high water. It surfs almost anything, does cartwheels and stern squirts easy. But when running drops, the flat bottom hurts when a boof is needed and pounding through holes and swirlies is really unstable. Ya, creeking in a playboat isn't smart, thats why I am looking into a creek boat.

Good deal Endo, this will make a big difference in how you penetrate holes !! ie subing out and going under the pile or floating over the top. Make sure you try out a bunch of boats because they are just as user specific as a playboat. SYOTR

James: Ya, its very true, i seem to end up back surfing back into the hole! or i start doing a bunch of uncontrolled cartwheels. on the Lower salmon i was stuck in a maw of a hole on slide and was just getting spun around like a top!
Rokmnky: the one problem is a fit the weight, but i have paddled a medium and i wsa really crammed in it felt. Granted we were carrying gear, but for 6ft. 2... a bit tight it felt.
Water wacko: jacksons are amazing boats. Ill take a look. Were you at the Callaghan creek fest? Someone said there was Jackson team members there.

Yeah the ammo is going to be a little small for you. Your gonna need a bigger boat. The burns have been really popular, I love mine. The new jacksons are pretty good looking as well but I havent paddled one yet.

Do they still use those janky ropes?

Yes, James, Jacksons still use that 1/4" rope that runs about $0.20 a foot. Available in nearly every hardware store and cheap as cheap can get. No rusty ratchets or busted-snowboard-binding-lookin-stuff. Nope, just cheap rope. Makes it easy to tie in a backup set, too. Plus, I can tie mine multiple times and get a few "uses" out of each one before I need a replacement. Too easy!! I usually break the rope in the playboats. I have yet to break one in a creeker.

Hit me up if you ever want to demo the Big Dog Drop Zone.
I'll be packing it up to Carnage Asada if you are there.

Sure?

Creekin's the sh*t. For a long time I never thought I feel that way. Course, I never thought I'd run Exit or Elbow Room either. Or Robe for that matter. Kayaking is just the best sport on the planet!!!
