Howdy,
I'm writing a book on stand up paddling and am seeking a bridge to take pictures from above a well defined class 2-3 river. Thoughts?

Well defined means one that shows various river features such as eddies, eddylines, maybe a surf wave and/or a hyraulic whether safe or otherwise.

Also seeking paddlers experienced in stand up paddling on rivers for models to show peeling in/out, ferrying, etc.

SF Stilly - the bridge just upstream from Verlot overlooks a nice 2+ rapid with a few features

Skykomish - RR Bridge drop is under the RR Bridge, but I'd be realll careful shooting from it

Chilliwack - If you don't mind a tirp over the border to Canada, Tamihi bridge has a fantastic vantage point of the rapid below which is chock full of features.

EF Lewis -  The bridge at heisson gives a great view of the rapid below, which is 3+-4

Green - the Gorge bridge is above some rapids, but it's very high up

Cedar - at Landsburg the brige overlooks the class 2 rapid that's used for slalom races. It's an easy rapid, but has a nice variety of features.

That's all I can think of for now.

EF Lewis is perfect, you have the Heisson as mentioned, and lower down is the 503 Bridge by Lewisville park with a great view of a 2+ rapid that can be walked and run over and over to shoot film.
 
Even lower down by Daybreak park is a surf wave directrly below the bridge at super high water and one upstream several yards by the playground at 1200- 2000.
 
I would also think East to the Spokane River plenty of bridges on the upper and lower runs.  theres even a huge wave below the suspension bridge in Riverside State Park at high flows
