Topic: Car Insurance? Posted: 25 Sep 2009 at 3:07pm |
Thinking of changing our Auto Insurer. We have been with California Casualty for almost 10years and recently saw our rates bounce up with no good explanation for why. So, I checked with Geico and got a quote for much less than we pay now.
So my question is does anyone have experience with Geico or other insurers and if so was it good, bad, or ugly?
Thanks for sharing ....

I would highly recommend USAA.
I have had them for almost 28 years now and they cover everything. Homeowners, auto, bank, credit cards, checking account. You name it they do it and NO ONE can beat thier rates or coverage.
The catch is you have to be an officer in the military or a beneficiary of an officer.

Or a family member, and I think you can be an enlisted person now too.
For example, I pay $50 a month for full coverage on a brand new suv.

I was with Farmers for years and they were good but rates went up so I switched to Pemco recently. So far so good.

I was with USAA while enlisted, then I went to gieco. Been with Gieco for around 12 years. Local agent support ... what a load of ripe crap. Don't get me wrong but I mowed lawns for a state farm agent and it wasn't like he drove to the scene of an accident if one happened, unless that is you had a million dollar house that was burning down.
Bottom line is that Gieco is cheap, they pay the claims quickly, they do have local shops, one in kent, auburn, seattle, bellevue, snohomish etc... Like a good neighbor Geico is there!

I agree with the comments on USAA. I've always had all my insurance with them. They are amazing, expedient in their claims, and their customer service is second to none. If you can utilize their services, I highly suggest you look into them. I would also suggest that when comparing rates, you take into account the deductable that others are using in quoting your policy rates.

I don't know about Geico. That whole caveman thing really pisses me off!
