This is the Hood, Wind, Klickitat discussion thread. Please post any questions below.

Remember the actual Trip Details are located on the Hood, Wind, Klickitat | Trip Page

Tobin and I are heading down to the Hood River area for the weekend. I wanted to check out the Hood and some other things in the area before runs start drying up. We'd talked about the Wind and possibly the Klick - but suggestions are always welcomed. The other thing is I have two kegs from the Ram that still have a good deal of beer left in them. For a small donation of $5, you can drink as much as you want for the weekend. I'm not sure where we're camping yet, but I'll post when I do. Megan and I are heading down tomorrow to do some mountain biking, so we'll be camping Friday and Saturday.

Well, funny thing about the paddle. I've got this tendency to never buy anything used that tends to see abuse (like white water paddles). In my personal experience, everytime I try to cut corners on things it ends up costing me more in the long run than it would have up front in the first place. Rewind to March time frame - I'm sitting in Iraq surfing E-Bay after being home for a great R&R leave (boating and skiing) and I see this "lightly used" AT2 paddle and I get it for $200. Part good deal, part just wanting to feel like I'm setting myself up for a great summer back home (hard to explain, but it helps pass the time). When I got home and saw the paddle, it looked to be in decent shape. After I broke it and called AT, they said the serial number was 8 years old. So - long story short = no warranty. I have my old AT I'm using whilst biding my time to pounce on the wife for a new Werner.

I drink rum and wear my wife's underwear when no one is looking!

Once again,  Thanks Tobin for giving me a heads up that you will be boating in my back yard!  I would love to join you all, but I am headed out to do some fly fishing this weekend.  Enjoy.  Everything in the drainages you have mentioned are still runneing well I am told.
