I guess the ash clouds in eruptions like that can ionize the sky, creating their own electrical storms. Crazy!

If you look on the Buzz, it looks like people have set up a relief aid fund. If anyone loves the Futa or someday has dreams of paddling it, donations are a worthy cause.
