Ok folks... Virtual Gauges are up and running.
I only need to tweak a few things here and there too add gauges.
The first Virtual Gauge I have added is the Icicle. Of course while I was adding it I had to decide to use AW's equation or make my own.
I have some issues with the method that AW uses to determine the flow on this stretch and I am curious if anyone that is a local around there can help me clear stuff up.
AW extrapolates the icicle gauge based off a percentage of the Wenatchee at Peshastin.
Here is the equation. ICICLE CREEK AB SNOW CREEK (6473) = 10^((1.152*(LOG(AW4931)))-1.3222)
Now here is my suggestion which seems much more accurate.
First Take the gauge value at Peshastin. Then subtract the value of the gauge at Plain which is accurate of what is in the river at tumwater.
Peshastin - Plain will give you a reading of all the water coming into the wenatchee inbetween those two gauges. Well the Icicle is the only major Trib with the exception of irrigation and very small creeks.
So take a percentage of this say 10% and and remove that from the equation and you would be left with a fairly accurate view of what is coming out of the Icicle...
Am I wrong or doesnt that seem much more accurate. Because then if tumwater is pumping but the icicle is not melting as much you would know.
So right now AW reads the Icicle at 234 cfs, but I would say that there is really more like around 400 - 500 in it right now.
