Location: Buena Vista, CO
Job Type: Seasonal/summer
Compensation: $85-$100/day, depending on experience

The Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center provides professional guiding and instruction in kayaking, rafting, stand-up paddling, rock climbing, and mountain biking in the picturesque Arkansas Valley, one of Colorado’s premier adventure hubs.

Whitewater Kayak Instructors teach fundamental skills and rolling on flatwater and Class II venues. They may also lead inflatable kayak trips in rapids up to Class III or provide safety boat support for raft trips on Class IV sections of the Arkansas River (Browns Canyon, The Numbers). Courses include youth camp groups, adult group classes of all ability levels, and private lessons.

Basic First-Aid/CPR and American Canoe Association certification required, preferably Level 4: Whitewater Kayaking. Class IV boating skills and swiftwater rescue experience preferred. Class III raft guiding experience is also a plus.

Will train the right candidate with Class IV kayaking skills. Instructor certification, raft guide certification, swiftwater rescue, and First-Aid/CPR courses are available in the spring — check the course schedule at rmoc.com. Position:  ProcessEngineer

Immediate Supervisor: Senior Engineer

GeneralResponsibilities:

 

Provide technical expertise in the design, fabrication,troubleshooting, development, installation and qualification of equipment.

Improve and document production processes.  Support lean initiatives and the streamliningof the production flow and layout.

This individual must be enthusiastic about working in a team tochallenge existing processes and product designs and to facilitate positivechange towards both.

Specific Responsibilities:

Initiate, direct, and support projects to implement innovative equipment, tooling, processes, and methods that enhance efficiency, improve safety, and increase profitability.

Createprocedures, work instructions, drawings, workmanship standards and othertechnical documentation as required.
Provide strategic engineering insight to daily manufacturing processes to help improve efficiency of production layout and flow.
Analyzeand design test methods and processes necessary to meet Production requirementsand improve quality.
 
Support manufacturing personnel in lean efforts.
 
Supportthe introduction of new products into production environment by performing NewProduct Introduction (NPI) tasks as assigned.
 
Performtime studies on the production floor to determine labor time standards.
 
Assist with technical protocols for validation of materials, products and processes.
 
Investigates and provides solutions for highly complex problems where intricate analysis of situations or data is required.

Contribute to cross functional teams that drive improvement initiatives.

  • Experience working with composite materials and lamination processes.
  • Experience with or knowledge of injection molding.
