Fun FactsThe biggest stretch of flatwater is 30 feet long.Has some bouldery sections that roughly resemble "Gettin Busy" on the Little White. |
Run Description [Season: Fall and Spring]At the lower flows expect the beginning trip to involve lots of hip-shots against small to medium small sized boulders, a manky pin-ball affair. Much of this sort of whitewater is fairly boat scoutable, always watch out for wood, though.
Later the run starts to channelize more, get steeper, and a little cleaner. Medium to medium high flows would be much cleaner, but absolutely screaming down the gradient. You'll definitely be scouting plenty if you haven't been there before.
At one point you came to an 8' riverwide ledge that you can scout from a collection of large boulders on R. Left. The hole is severely backed up by seived boulder clusters midstream and Left. Bad class V entrapment consequences there. R. Right, however, has a nice greenwater curling ridge in the classic spot. It'll line you up where you want to boof toward a seam between converging patterns on R. Right. Below this you stay with the main current down through a slide, and then work your way back to the left to a prominant knob of rock with a deep plunging curl of greenwater.Stay high on the knob/curler and boof 8' into bliss!
Elsewhere throughout the run you'll encounter a nice blend of skinny cnayon chutes and pinches, narrow slots, more bouler gardens and a few ledges.
It can be scraped down at ELF flows, but would be more fun at decent, medium low to medium flows.
