  Access

From Canada Hwy 1 take exit 119 in Chilliwack and head south on Vedder Road. Just before the bride over the river at Vedder Crossing turn left onto Chilliwack Lake road.

  Putin Details

Continue up Chilliwack lake road to Slesse Creek. The river is right by the road here and there are several nice spots to put-in. Watch out for fishermen's lines.

There are several other access spots for a shorter run, including above and below Tamihi Rapid, and further up at Allison Pool park.

  Takeout Details

The takeout used to be on Osborn Road in Pointa Vista but it is now heavily signed no parking/access. Take out instead either at Tamihi Rapids or continue downstream a few miles where you can find roadside access.

  Fun Facts

Fun pool drop run with nice scenery and some great rapids. Can be combined with the Canyon stretch upstream for a longer, more exciting run or you can continue down to Vedder crossing to add some scenic II floating.

   Run Description [Season: year-round]

This is a fun run with nice rapids but is pool drop, especially compared to the canyon run upstream. It also has a bit more bigwater feel than the canyon as more tributaries feed this section. It starts out with some fast sections similar to the canyon but soon mellows out to pool drop II and III. Around Allison Pool the river goes through a really cool short canyon, but the rapids are not too difficult there. The fun really kicks in when you approach Tamihi rapids, just upstream from the bridge you cross during the shuttle. Tamihi is a really fun boulder garden with tons of different routes to choose from and is rated III+ to IV depending on levels. Just downstream from Tamihi is another really fun III+ rapid. At medium to high levels there is fun action all the way to the takeout, about 2 miles past Tamihi Bridge.
