whether you're coming from north or south on I5 its the wa-6 exit towards raymond/Pe Ell. from the north you make a right onto 6 west, from south you make a left. then its right about 16-17 miles you'll round a right hand turn and the pullout will be clear on the right.

  Takeout Details

Run Description [Season: august - may/june]

sooo the falls are an excellent area to brush up on bracing and funny water and catching eddies. there is the falls themselves which are a pretty fun feature, all bedrock. there is a small horseshoe shelf(speeding up the flow) that leads into the main chute which depending on the level is either narrow with one route down the middle and pretty mellow. about 900 and up everything widens up and more is in play. the main chute swells and is quite fast into a series of waves at the bottom. but the main route down and out is sided by two eddies which create a large recirculation on each side. but then there is the river right shoulder route that goes around a large portion of rock seperate from the main river and has a nice drop with a small hole at the bottom that rejoins the main river right below the river right eddy after the falls, this makes river right after the falls crazy. river left after 1000cfs will open up a nice slide that creates a pourover into calm water which is part of a recirculation on river left after the falls annnd theres a weird eddy in between the pourover & the main chute because of a pocket in the very middle of the chute.... its quite a feature to be sure. a friend and i have gone diving to check out all of the river between the falls and the lower class 2 rapid. it gets to 35-40 ft deep at the bottom of the falls. the lower class 2 rapid has an island with two routes, left is full of fun small waves & the right is a small channel into and eddy. I will upload video soon.
