  Access

Follow the road up past the put in for the lower section. If you come to a Y, stay with the river. Eventually, after bumping up a poorly maintained washed out road for roughly 8 miles, you will reach the twin bridges. Two bridges that cross the river in close proximity to one another. Under the 2nd bridge is split falls, the put in for the run.

  Putin Details

The put in is at split falls, just upstream of the 2nd bridge at twin bridges.

  Takeout Details

You can take out at the put in for the lower section (fly creek), or continue on to the reservoir.

  Other Issues

Lots of wood. Some neat log jams. They are currently all portageable/runnable/swimmable, just stay on you toes and use your head. (that round thing on top of your shoulders).

ALSO, at MARBLE STAIRS there is SOME WOOD. The stuff you can see isn't the issue. There is a small piece of wood ~6in in diameter~ spanning the exit JUST BELOW THE SURFACE IN THE LANDING ZONE OF THE LEFT SIDE.

  Fun Facts

Beautiful minigorges with huge trees, both in and out of the river. On the way up or down, you can see the landslide area (a clearcut under some powerlines) that contributed to the epic logjam on the lower section.

   Run Description [Season: ]

Mostly class III/IV fun, with a stompin class five (marble stairs). At the put in is split falls, a great way to start the run. And at the end, a nice little boulder garden cleverly referred to as final exam. Lush mossy gorges throughout, and plenty of logjams to keep you on your toes. Something well worth doing if the lower section is too high for your liking.

Note: the gauge was being wonky this day due to some high flows over the weekend. it was reading around 1500cfs when we put on. Many of the local folks were saying it was higher though. maybe 2000cfs on the gauge for the lower.
