  Other Issues

Landslide: it's a class III- -IV move with class VI consequences. A paddler could easily get pushed too far left in the entrance and go into the sieve/undercut boulder. Most of the current is going to the sieve, but the is an eddy on the right side that can be caught and then you can shimmy through a small slot to get back into the current and run the line. The rapid itself is pretty clean, but the entrance is the big danger. Above 600 cfs it's possible you could get washed into it so be weary. The rapid is obvious, the river walls up for the first time, and there will be a slight horizon line with a flat pool above it. There is a sketchy bluff on the left that is the only good place to portage or scout, but be careful about rock fall. You could potentially scout from the eddy on the right but depending on water level you might not be able to get back to the left if you decide that it is not a rapid you want to run. The run is super pretty but not a good introductory run. The scout/portage can be intimidating. If you portage you'll have to line the boats up and over the bluff, there is no river level way around it. All the rest of the rapids are good to go.
