  Access

There's easy access for both the put in and take out. Both require a very short hike to or from the river. There are great views of Mt. Si along this stretch of river! There are no bathrooms, just an FYI.

  Putin Details

From Seattle (about 32 miles depending on where you are leaving from):
-drive EAST on I-90
-take EXIT 32
-Turn LEFT onto 436TH AVE SE (drive about 0.6 mi)
-Turn RIGHT onto SE NORTH BEND WAY (drive about 0.7 mi)
-Turn LEFT onto SE TANNER RD (drive about 0.5 mi)
-There is a gravel pull out on the right side of the road where you can park, just past some mailboxes and a telephone pole.
-Walk across the street to a locked gate and you can access the river by walking around the gate. Please do not park in front of the gate! This is also the take out for the "Middle Middle" section.

-Take the FIRST exit off the roundabout (this will take you into North Bend).
-Turn RIGHT onto BALLARAT AVE N, continue on this road and it becomes BALLARAT AVE NE (about 0.4 mi)
-The road curves to the RIGHT and turns into NE 12TH ST (drive about 0.6 mi)
-Continue on NE 12TH ST until it veers to the LEFT and becomes 428TH AVE SE
-Drive on 428TH AVE SE until you cross a bridge over the river (about 0.5 mi)
-Take your next RIGHT onto a DEAD END STREET. You can park here.
(The total drive is about 4.4 miles each way and takes about 12 minutes for reference)

  Other Issues

There's talk of a new subdivision at the put in. As of right now, there are no access issues for the put in.

  Fun Facts

Great views of Mount Si, North Bend has the NB Bar and Grill with some good grub and beer. If you are in the mood for a milkshake, there's a Dairy Freeze across the street from the bar and grill. If you are a Twin Peaks fan, Twede's Café was part of the show and stil is open for business....I've always wanted to stop in and get some pie :)

   Run Description [Season: ]

By Megspk 11/4/2014
A nice class two with some great spots for working on basic skills with minimal consequence.
A great section of river with class 1 or 2 options. Like most rivers you can make it more challenging by making your way around rocks and trying to catch rock eddies. There's a great wave train near the end of the run and there's also a great spot right before the take out where you can work on ferries and sturns. It's a short flat water paddle to the take out from here. I'd recommend at least 1000 cfs, I was out there at about 900 and it was very shallow in spots, but still able to be paddled.
