Other Issues Campbell Global owns the land around this run including the put-in and takeout access. You need a permit (was $8 but is $10 as of 6/2020) for a daily) to walk-in to the river access on their land. Permits can be obtained online at: https://sqrecreation.com/node/202 NOTE: Don't pass the takeout. Big Creek Falls (V+) is a short ways downstream

   Run Description [Season: Rainy/snowmelt]

I was always curious what this section of the NF was like. Information about this stretch is pretty much nil, so I finally made a trip and found out.

This section isn't a classic run, but is more of a mixed bag. It has some fantastic views and some nice beaches. Most of the run is pretty mellow. The first couple miles are mostly flat water with a few easy riffles. The whitewater picks up towards the end of the run. Most of this run would be a good section for class 2 boaters with the exception of a couple steep boulder gardens (which could be portaged). It's something different to try when you've run all the other sections of the Snoqualmie and want to see something different.

The run starts out on tiny Sunday Creek with just enough water to float a boat and probably some wood to portage. It's only 100 yards down, though and you're on the NF.

The first 3 miles the river is lazy and offers nice views. It's mostly flatwater but moves along nicely and has a few class 2- riffles here and there. The run is longer than the 2.5 mile shuttle would make you think as the river meanders and twists quite a bit.

Later on in the run some easy class 2 boulder gardens liven things up a bit until you reach the first big rapid. The first rapid is marked by big cliff/slide on river right and a 90 degree turn to the left. Get out on the left here as it rounds the corner to scout.

This rapid likely changes from year to year as new boulders are added to the river from the slide on the right. As of 4/2015 it's a 2 part rapid and at moderate levels you can eddy out between the two sections. Both drops are fairly steep boulder gardens with some van and house size rocks. Scouting revealed good lines though both drops. They felt like 3+ or 4- at low water but probably become solid 4 at higher water.

After the first big drops class 2 - 3 boogie water continues until the next big drop, which is shorter but steep boulder ledge. Class 3+ or 4. There was a log in the main drop so we took a sneak line around the right side that made it quite easy.

After this drop there's some more class 2-3 boogie water leading right up to the takeout with a nice boof right before the bridge.

We ran it at 600 cfs, which was low. I'd recommend 700 as a minimum and 1000 would probably be much more fun. This isn't a run I'll be scrambling to get back to, but it was certainly an entertaining day on the river, and I'm sure I'll be back again (at a bit higher water) someday.

As of 4/2015 the run was quite clean. Very little wood in play, but that could definitely change so keep an eye out for wood on this run and do scout the 2 larger rapids carefully for wood.
