River was at 6300CFS, normal is around 1000 to 3000.  Because of this I opted for my big dog force rather that the Havoc because I felt some volume would be a good idea.

this run usually takes a few hours but we were back at the takeout in 45 minutes.

It was my first time on this stretch and I can say that I didn't get a good feel for it at all.  We put in at Kay's Landing, about 1/4mi from Paradise because it was under water and the river was slamming into the headwall pretty hard...it was a meat grinder.  After getting ready and everyone on the trip did a gut check to see if they were really up for this Rob mentioned that swimming would probably be a really bad idea and you'd likely be on your own.
