FYI:

I just got an e-mail about a new bill that passed legislation in Idaho.

All craft..motorized and non-motorized (except inflatable non-motorized craft under 10 feet) is required to have a sticker.

The web site:  http://parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/idahoinvasivespeciesfund.aspx - http://parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/idahoinvasivespeciesfund.aspx

At the bottom of the page is a link to purchase a sticker, and you can purchase multiple stickers.

When in full enforcement, the fine will be $571.  The sticker is $5.00 per person plus $1.30 for online purchase.

The money will go to the Idaho Invasive Species Fund, which I'm sure is a good cause, but I don't appreciate forced contributions or extra paperwork.

Sounds like the Mini-Me might be the boat to own in Idaho. At only 9' long and an inflatable it would save you $5 a year.

$57, not $571, unless I'm missing something...

Boating on the waters of the State of Idaho without displaying the required Invasive Species Sticker will be a violation of Idaho Code Chapter 70, Title 67, Section 67-7008(A) , which has a fixed penalty of $57.00. A law enforcement officer could issue the operator/owner of the vessel a Uniform Citation for violation of this law. The operator/owner would have three options if issued a citation for violation of this section; mail the citation to the County Court or Clerk’s Office with the required $57.00, stop at the County Court Clerk’s Office and pay the $57.00 in person, or appear in County Magistrate Court and plead not guilty, requesting a Court Trial.

Something similar happened in IL a few years back.  The state required kayakers to register their water craft.  As far as I know though, if you were from out of state you did not need to have a sticker (might not be the case here)
