This is the Is Saturday the day for Boulder Drop?? discussion thread. Please post any questions below.

Remember the actual Trip Details are located on the Is today the day for Boulder drop?? | Trip Page

There is a certain somebody that I know that may make her first attempt on Boulder Drop on Saturday.  That is, if she can still walk, sit and hold a paddle after cycling in RAMROD tomorrow (Thursday).

We are meeting at 10AM to allow time for 2 laps of the upper section of the Sky before we need to get back to Seattle.

Come on out and join us for a fun day in the sun.

I'm in, I need to stay in the area and would like to see Deborah style BD.
If anyone is interested I'd be up for running laps on BD, maybe we can see how many routes we can take.

Looking forward to paddling w/ you and Deborah again.

John (Patty),
The upper section @ 1500 or so will be a great level for Patty to run it the first time.  She'll have lots of fun!

Tom,
I think the first time down, I want to take Deborah through airplane turn.  After that, I'm game to try another route - Needle or Ned's depending what looks best.  Should be a fun day!

Deborah styled it!  I think that Steve did it successfully for his first time as well but I'm not sure.

Josh - Glad to hear that you stuck it to the man!

Glad to head I'm not alone. Not that I didn't know so already.

I think we should have a Boulder Drop Swim Team shirt too. You don't get one until you swim it. Obviously.

I think I'm scared of it now though. Don't really want to run it tomorrow... But I'm thinking that running or swimming it is better than the portage... It's too hot for walking along the highway.

You should give it another go, otherwise you'll have that unfinished business to deal with. Give it a look, separate the moves and you should be fine.

How is Ned's at this level? The ferry for Airplane is what kills me.

Neds is tougher than Airplane because you need a boof stroke. Well, you don't "need" it but it certainly helps. You should be pretty comfortable on airplane before moving up to Neds imho.

I swam it... How bad can it be in a boat? ;-) How much of a hole is at the bottom?

Not too much of a hole but you can get worked a little. Plus it starts getting shallower with lower levels so you have ankle-hurting potential if you don't boof it. Up to you though.
