Maybe for women it could be little Nikki's (Nikki Kelly is the most godly female creeker on the planet).

EDIT: You don't even need to mention that she is female...she is just downright one o the best creekers period.

Oh good, they are putting it in High Bridge Park! Spokane's primer drug spot and prostitution spot. Now there is truly something for everybody there! Hopefully you get to park off Sprague Ave. Then it would be perfect.

Bring on the kayaking pimps!

This is just great...

"Faust said the group hopes to start the permitting process in June, 2007, as soon as the State’s $400,000 grant is released. He added, “We are currently negotiating with design teams for their services to support this effort. There are several permits required, including a Shorelines permit with a fairly long lead time. Work on the in-river whitewater features is only possible in July/August of each year, when flows are lowest. Given the time needed to permit the project, we expect to begin construction of the whitewater features and support facilities in May, 2008, and complete the project in October 2008.”

Does anyone know if it is still on schedule?

Anyone have updates on this... It seems like it might be moving forward again. Anyone know who Steve Bailey is?

I posted this link a couple weeks ago from an article in the Spokane Journal of Business:

http://wildliferecreation.org/news-events/making-waves-permits-for-whitewater-park-to-be-sought-soon-features-might-be-ready-next-year/ - Article on Spokane WW Park

Important part is that the ww park project is being funded by a state grant called the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program. If you want a ww park in your town, get your Parks Dept. to apply for this grant. It's how a majority of parks and recreation projects get funded in WA state.

... and don't forget to VOTE for the Parks in this election, it is a $0.10 increase in property taxes for every $1000 in assessed value .. aka $55/year for a $550k house.

Steve Bailey is a good friend of mine.  He is a firefighter in Spokane, an SRT and excellent kayaker.  He is friends with Travis Nichols and the other "Spokompton" locs so I think that there is a very good crew of intelligent and motivated boaters over there.  I am sure they would appreciate any help that can be provided though.

Funny I was thinking of them helping us....

Seems like they have it a bit more dialed in than we do!

We certainly would appreciate any help that you can muster!   Donations can be made through Friendsofthefalls.org .   Things look like they are on track at the moment with permiting which puts in place for august construction and September opening.   Thank you all for your support and fee free to ping me with any questions.
