This week, the Snohomish County PUD officially announced they are cancelling their plans to build a hydropower project on the SF Skykomish at Sunset Falls. Details on the PUD blog: https://www.snopud.com/newsroom.ashx?p=1102&173_na=358 And the Everett Herald: http://www.heraldnet.com/news/snohomish-county-pud-scraps-skykomish-river-hydroelectric-dam/ Big thanks to everyone who wrote letters, went to meetings, did research, and fought the good fight to keep this horrendous project from scarring our beloved Sky. The language in the PUD blog does indicate that other hydro projects could pop up, so celebrate the win, but keep an eye open.  |
