"Wettest March ever, 10th wettest month on record for the Green River Basin." Says Larry Schick Meteorologist for the Army Corps of Engineers.
Inflows are above average. I am expecting higher than normal flows for this year’s event.

Just a heads up to anyone interested. Me and my family are going to camp out at Kanaskat this weekend. I'll be boating but don't know when since I'll be on family time. But if you are so inclined come on out with the kids and let's have some fun. I'll be there Friday and Sat. Night.

Thanks James, your sacrifice will not go un noticed. How old are your kids? I will have my grandkids there ranging in ages from 2 to 12 yrs. old. They will be camping and doing their cleanup duties on shore.

The GRCU is well known as one of the first boat based cleanup and most people think of it that way. However there has always been ground base crews and lately have been removing the most trash.

There are lots of areas in the gorge to hike into or out of your boat to find the less and less each year, elusive garbage. hooray for the GRCU.

I encourage you to explore some of those options. Fun for the whole family. :)

Thanks for your support of the GRCU C U at Palmer camp.

I Just got the prizes for the World Kayak Home Town Throw Down!  We'll have Ninkasi Sweatshirts, t-shirts from IR, and Jackson Kayaks, pro deals from Astral and Mountain Khaki, among other stuff.  See you on the river, and we'll have the throw bag golf course going during the WRRR BBQ.  We should be starting the throw bagging around 2 or 3pm.

What can I say, the stars all lined up for a great GRCU. You came through again, to make the 29th GRCU the best clean-up yet. Thanks to all you volunteers who made sure the banks of the Green are clean for another year. Special thanks to WRRR board of directors who take on the ever increasing logistical challenges of the GRCU.

Here are the stats for 2014 29th GRCU:

New record boater turnout:
224 registered volunteers for a total of 608 volunteer hours.

New record for least amount of garbage removed:
Less than 1 cu. Yd. 900 to 1000 lbs. (This is a good thing)

New record rain fall for GRCU:
Somebody was praying for rain and boy did we get it.

New record or near new record for GRCU flows:
2150 cfs; great level, only 2nd time in GRCU history at flows over 2000 cfs. No reports of incidents, which is common at these flows.

A cleaner Green River, more awareness, lots of personal first descents as well as long time GRCU veterans again made this the biggest best clean-up in the PNW.
Mark your 2015 calendars now for the 30th GRCU, Saturday may 2nd 2015. We are planning some special things. Let’s break some more records next year. SYOTGR

I camped with my family out there all weekend and I don't recall praying for rain one time, in fact I would like to know who did....

Kidding of course we had a good time, not exactly the weekend I was expecting but still wonderful to be out with the family! Thanks for the work planning and coordinating this Jay!
