I imagine there will be a fairly big contingent of Seattle paddlers going down to race, spectate, and party.

Ellie and I will be going down south to the NW Creeking Comp this weekend to race and party with friends.
The turnout at the NW Creek Comp is always great.   I highly encourage everyone to rally south this weekend for the festivities!   Free beer, nice weather,   and there will be be lots of people to paddle with all weekend.

Here are some results from memory:

Canyon Creek Raft Race:
1st place - Scott & Jed
2nd - doesn't matter - but it was probably ORT

CC Kayak-
1st Louis Geltman
2nd Gerd Sersolas
3rd Dan Rubido
4th Andrew McEwan - not bad for his 2nd run ever

EFL Short
1 Evan G
2 Louis G
3 Andrew McEwan

EFL Women
1 Kim B
2 Ellie Wheat
3 ?

Long boat
Darren
Louis
Mike Gotleib

Weather wasn't the best, but levels were great. And a great time was had by all. I think almost everyone had some sort of experience at Jon's Hole. I know I only got through it cleanly once out of 5 runs. Someone said there was about a 50% swim rate for a while. I still want to know how Ellie and Alex did in the duo on CC?

Oh yeah, talked to the camp host over the weekend.

He said he counted the cars... 273 cars for the race last weekend, 111 a year ago. This event is growing like crazy!
