This is the section that ends at Verlot ranger
station. The log is at the bottom of the drop
we call landslide. It has a huge sand cliff on a
left bend. The log is located at the very bottom of the
hardest part of the drop. A boater who is unable
to eddy out may be a the risk of drowning.

If you could put a river alert on the SF Stil. page that would be great.

Is this the same log that's been jutting out from the bottom of  that huge log pile on the left in the drop just upstream from the takeout bridge?  The sand cliff is on river right and there is a large gravel bar and houses on the left.

No this log is just as you come to the bottom of the drop where the sand cliff starts.
Its about 8 inches on the end near the shore, and about
4 inches where the current hits the log.
The level thursday was 5.56. If it were 4 inches
higher you would most likely go ocer it.
Maybe 5.8 to 6 would cover it.
