The WKC website forum is nothing but viagra and porn posts? It looks like they are under attack by something or someone? I was going to post a boat for sale there, but I am a little scared to do anything on the site until someone fixes it.... ------------- Nomad |

Looks fine to me Dave, must be the cookies on your computer?  TOTALLY kidding Dave, I was afraid to look at the WKC site, I'm sure you're right. That is a bummer. Couldn't help myself - I will get back to work now. ;) ------------- It's all fun and games until someone loses a paddle. |

| WKC- great group of people but agreed- no one is home over there. I'm gonna get shelled for this- but as a newbie to the club- someone needs to step in and help get a proper listserv and forum going. Most of the action happens on personal email lists and ad hoc communications. (Again I'm gonna get shelled for this) my take is part of it is demographics if you know what I mean. Changing of the guard and all that- but the new guard is over here it seems. |

I noticed it too in my email inbox.
I'd be afraid to speak up if I really was into Teen porn, Gucci Loafers, Or if I needed viagra. I don't need or want any of those things.
If I would've seen links to address my "Neoprene Fetish", howevever, I'd be all over it!!
But seriously, that site has obviously been hacked into, and yes, it has always seemed to me that "no one was at home" over there (shell me all you want- just stateing the obvious truth). I think the folks at WKC are great. I just wish the feeling was mutual. It seems they are choking off their connection with "Generation Next", and it's a bummer. I've been paddling as long as most of the folks over there, I just see the importance of connecting with new blood to keep my own growth rate as a paddler strong.
(shrug)- the rivers still flow downhill and people still show up at the put-ins. I have a variety of folks to paddle with no matter what, so I guess I don't have a problem. But I'd like to see the WKC flourish because they have made significant contributions to the local paddling community over the years.
At the very least they need to address that issue with their site, otherwise I won't touch it w/ a ten foot paddle (like the one you'd use for "Striding").

Either I'm reading this thread way to literally & the WKC site has been fixed, or I completely missed the topic of viagra and porn... maybe a Halloween trick? I know that PP and WKC have had their issues, but ultimately we're all here to have fun and paddle, right? Believe me, I've had my own issues with WKC, but there's still wonderful peeps there who are great to paddle with! In fact, I met my mentor, Rob Gibbert, from a WKC trip and he's like a brother to me now.
Dave, I don't know what the deal was with the WKC website, but I know a person who helps puts the WKC Bulletin out. If you're interested, I could get you two in contact-- maybe they could start a "for sale" section & your boat could be posted?

Last time I was on the site when I was posting adds for my boat everywhere, I noticed the forum full of Viagra adds and such. It was definitely attacked. This may have been fixed by now though. ------------- Nomad |
