Man- watch out for that one hole in the middle of the river all by it's lonesome, well above House Rocks (Jed says they're more like "Gargae Rocks" and I agree
but anyway...)
I was feeling cocky that day and inserted myself into the above mentioned hole. I could not see out of it. It was running around 3600 cfs, and I could not even budge 3 inches in either direction ( I was in my creekboat ). I couldn't engage either end. Eventually while trying to I got flipped. Only after a few seconds of hanging out upside down did I flush. I was side surfing in there a very, very, very long time. Ask Jed, Chipper, or Jon Shelby. I don't think the other guy cared much. He just kept floating downstream.
That stuff is alwasy fun in hindsight, but at the time I was thinking: "Am I gonna swim on the Middle Middle? What a Bitter Booty Beer that would have been. was resolute not to give in to the temptation!
