This is the Couples Weekend in BC discussion thread. Please post any questions below.

Remember the actual Trip Details are located on the Couples Weekend in BC | Trip Page

This weekend is about couples. The idea is to plan well in advance to meet up with a bunch of couples for some fun in the sun. There are plenty of things that were going to plan for but the exact schedule will depend on who shows up.

The main goal for this weekend is to hang out with other couples (married or not) in the mountains of BC. The weekend will not be centered around whitewater although there will be ample opportunity to dip into it. Here are some of the activities that were looking forward to.

  • Pet friendly Lake Side Camping
  • Rafting & Kayaking the Nahatlatch River
(Both play run & gorge) - We want couples interested in rafting to join this Trip in as much advance notice as possible so we can plan the number of rafts and gear required.
  • Swimming & Frisbee (glowing at night!)
  • Mountain Bike Riding
Nahatlatch Valley & Down Kookapei Point
(XC & Freeride - Possibly some Dirt Jumping if Locals Permit)
  • Rafting & Kayaking the Thompson or Big Silver. On the Mt. Bike day we will scout the levels on Big Silver to determine if it will be runnable. If it is we will discuss the option if not then we will re-route to the Thompson and chill with a night in the Hot Tub and Pool!!!
  • Possible J-Rig Trip through Hells Gate if folks are interested.
  • Day Hike up to the Stien River Valley (Devils Stair Case Rapid - 4 Miles or more if folks want to go higher)
  • Cards & Board Games
So that's the scoop. If we can get 3 couples committed then we should have a go, of course the more the merrier. Unfortunately the whole trip is couple centric. So although were not trying to exclude Leif the rule will stand. Kayaking skill or even whitewater experience is not needed. So if you have a couple that your friends with and they just want to get away for a weekend then give them the invitation and make sure you let me know how many friends you will bring for planning.

See you in July!

Melissa and I may be in - gotta check the dates a little more, but a good possibility we may make at least some of the trip.

Right on Jeff, it would be a blast to have you along. Hopefully we will have enough folks to get a raft filled up. That's my real goal.

Well then it wouldn't be a couples weekend, and then we would probably just want to boat the whole time...

Not that we can't do that, I was just trying to plan something fun for the unit, not the boater.

well sure it would have be 'rebranded' but also I think a j-ride through hells would be freaking awesome!
More water, please.
