This is the Sat Pilchuck Creek discussion thread. Please post any questions below.

Remember the actual Trip Details are located on the Sat Pilchuck Creek | Trip Page

If the levels stay above 700 I want to hit it tomorrow. Back up plan is a high water Sauk run if the flows drop.

Anyone in?

Kyle

I think jay was taking a group up from Seattle around 8:30, so call it 10:30 or 11 just to be safe? I would prefer a later time to be honest...

My cell is 2oh6-4won90751. Let's coordinate tmrw am around 8:30 and see where flows are at. Things are still rising...

So, what is the guage reading?  I see a cfs # reported on the Pilchuck river page- is that accurate?  1900cfs- is that right?  Seems like that would be enough water for the upper.

No, it's barely above 700 right now.  You need to look at the Pilchuck CREEK page on the DOE site

My thoughts are to hit this and not scrape down, you need a minimum of 1000 and about 1500 - 2000 is a great medium.

Looking at the radar, it's raining pretty hard over the drainage right now and the gauge has started an upward trend.  I bet it's above 1000 in an hour or two.

FYI: Pilchuck Creek was good to go when we ran it yesterday, 10/30/09. There is one river-wide log about 5 miles into the trip, and it is in significant current. We portaged on river left. Other than that, there isn't any wood really in play. Have fun!

Oh yea, we only ran the middle section (Pilchuck Crk Campsite to Hwy 9 bridge), and the log is about 5 miles after the put-in.
