3 of us ran the NF on Sunday 5.31 from the gate over Jacks Pass to index.  The Sky gauge was mid 12k ( I think) good flow and pretty much the same wood as last year which means the concealed but nasty log still blocks the left and center channel at Let's Make a Deal. The small right channel was good but another nasty log below which wasn't too hard to avoid but well worth the scout. One other concealed log below the bridge downstream of Rooster Tail where the river splits around the island - Apparently the right side was clear, left had the wood with a small window far right and was really hard to see until close.

We stashed a bike at Trout Creek with the idea that one person would take out and start riding back up the closed NF road while the others boogied down to index with wallets to enjoy cold beers. It would have been a good plan but we were able to hire a shuttle in Index. With the extra miles and portages around Bear Creek and Drumbeater it makes for a full day of boating.

What about a dirt bike, would it be possible to get by the gates with one?
I would never dream of skipping work to boat!
