Off topic here, but I got a hernia the other day working with some stone for the landscaping. I went to my doctor yesterday, who diagnosed it and set me up for an appointment for a surgeon. The only problem is that I'm having problems seeing them in time for me leaving for a couple months to the Caribbean. It's not a super bad one, but it can only be fixed with surgery. I leave in 25 days!
My questions are...
Has anyone ever had one; if so... -- Did you wait to get it fixed? was it a problem or did it ever become an issue? -- where did you go? I might need to "shop around" and get one done asap -- what was your recovery time?
I've either got to deal with it and hope it doesn't become a problem (I'm going to go learn how to guide Dive Boats, so semi-strenuous) ... or get the surgery, which almost certainly means delaying my trip (which I don't want to do).

I don't know anything about iguana hernia's or where you get them fixed, but I do know one thing - if you're gonna be learning how to guide Dive Boats you know that they're probably going to want you to haul tanks. And if you're hauling tanks up and down dive docks a couple times a day, you're probably gonna want that hernia to be fixed.
