The Wenatchee River Festival will be hosting the first Dutch Oven Cook Off June 14. To honor a much-appreciated, but little-noticed aspect of paddling, Paddler magazine's Joe the Intern is organizing the competition that will pit campfire cooks against each other, with the masses serving as judges. Competitors are encouraged to cook whatever they want, entrees, dessert, using the time-tested Dutch Oven.
"I'm going to destroy the competition," said Joe the Intern. "If, that is, I can find a Dutch Oven."
Please e-mail joe@paddlermagazine.com if you intend to compete.

Details are below:
4:30 - 7:00 - NEW! Dutch Oven Cook-off. PADDLER MAGAZINE wants to see what you can do with your D.O. The winner will receive PADDLER swag as well as the street cred of being our first Champion. Email joe@paddlermagazine.com to find out more or click HERE. Spectators are the judges so make enough food [dinner, dessert, or whatever] in your D.O. for 30+ tasters.

Pardon my neoprene,
Joe Jackson

I always wondered if anyone would ever bake some pot brownies at a cook off.
