This is the Vancouver Kayak Club Rally discussion thread. Please post any questions below.

Remember the actual Trip Details are located on the Vancouver Kayak Club Rally | Trip Page

Ambre and I are heading up to this one to kick off the festival season. It would be great to have a few others come along.

Carpooling should be an option if we can get Leif to bring the Chunk Wagon, oh, I mean Chili.

I will be heading up there too.  I have a truck load of folks and a trailer full of boats and kit, so it should be a good time.  See you all there around noon time on Friday.

I would love to get a PP Diner Going or something.... Ideas??

I smoked some Turkeys last year at Wenatchee and they turned out amazing.  Unfortunately it will be camp ground cooking in Canada, so........ How about a Chili Feed!!!  Diner is provided Sat. night for those who are staying/ registered for the event.  How about Fri night, a little late, say 7pm, going till late for those rolling in after work?

Sounds damn good Tony,  I'll make breakfast for the crew on Sat. to contribute.
If anyone is on a low fat / veggie diet, your SOL. Naw, we'll bring some gopher food too.
We won't roll in until around 8-8:30
Let me know how many head of cattle I'm feeding

Hey guys, so glad to hear so many folks coming up.
Just a menu note, Saturday night will be Chili served by the festival...

Please be sure to register online, it's cheaper to pre-register, and you'll get a cool Free T-shirt if you pay by April 27th!

Christian, up north

I think I can be persuaded to head up - with the truck.  I have actually never run the Chiliwack.  Perhaps Hugo will be there - it's in his back yard.

Man, my gut can't handle Chili two nights in a row, I'll come up with something else for the PP folks rolling in Friday night, most likely Fajitas!  or Tofurkey with seaweed wraps and hummas.

Find the Nookie trailer  in the event/ vendor area and I will have Fajitas in the dutch oven warming for you all.  Knock on the door or wake my ass up if I'm passed out by the fire, canadian whiskey is good in my belly.

Mannnn,  whay are people so flakey.  Looks like the folks riding up with me to Chilliwack Friday from PDX are bailing, so I will most likely have room in my truck for a couple folks.  Let me know.  I will be in Seattle around 8-9 am Friday.  We can make find a meeting spot right off the freeway and not loose much time.  Drop me an email or PM

Question for the locals up north. With the chiliwack somewhat low due to lack of melting snow, would it be a correct assumption that creeks (such as Tamahi) in the area will be too low this weekend. I am trying to decide if it is worth bringing the creek boat...

Well Leif, I'd use my creeker on the Chilli and not just Tamihi creek.  Especially at low levels.  If you are doing the Slesse to Tamihi run though a playboat is fine.

I thought the canyon was a play run? Do you think any of the creeks will be in?

high water play run I am told... cold night in BC means no snow melt means no high water in the canyon means play run not going off
