Topic: Cooped Up No More Posted: 01 Jul 2007 at 10:16pm |
As expected, the Cooper was basically an ad-hoc PP party. My group got to laps in. No names, but only one of us checked into Norm's Resort. Anyone else have an interesting day out there?

Thanks for not selling me out. Who knew you weren't supposed to roll up above the last drop backwards on the left side. I though that was the line!

Hey Otter,
A couple of the group I was with were too focused on Norm's downstream and got surfed/flipped by the sideways hole just in the entrance rapid.
If you just power off the rock in the center left there, you boof clean and it's all good.
Wall of voodoo was interesting also. If you drop off the entrance flake too far to the left you can get typewritered across close and personal to the right wall.

Got three laps in on Saturday. I think the water level was close to medium, maybe slightly lower. Weather was about as perfect as it gets - for paddling and camping. I have some video Jenn shot of Voodoo that I'll post.....sorry no carnage.

Yo Rock,
So who won our sloppy boating competition? You were claiming victory yesterday, but doesn't my double peton count for anything? And don't forget my flip/roll run ledge, flip flip trick! If screwing up lines above ledges was a rodeo move I'd be unstoppable!

Otter/Bryon,
I think I entered myself in the sloppy boating competition on Saturday with my splat/stern stall on the Shark's Tooth rock into a semi-controlled washing down the right side finishing with a bumpy slide/piton combo out of the bottom right.
Jordan
p.s. Pow/Dave - stoked you got two more laps in after I left; way to ratchet up the speed. Looks like next Sunday is my next day paddling, up for a return to the Cooper before she goes dry? And here's to seeing some of the video Jen shot.

Umm, I definately win the sloppy boater competition. I was just confused on Sharks Tooth because you run everyting else right, so I went right there too... twice!
Oh, and lets not forget my awesome swim.

Jordon, I"d have loved to see that!
But, on further reflection I think the award goes out our friend Rock. Not only does rolling up and falling bass-ackwards into the left side of Norm's Resort take split second timing and nerves of steel, it's highly entertaining to watch!
Ok, having talked enough smack to guarantee myself a swim I'll just go back to work.
