LairStir said that there is a new law in washington that you cannot drink beer in a kayak going down the river... I assume that would mean you could get a ticket or taken to jail for it... I don't believe the law applies to a kayak unless your in a public lake or something.  Anyone have a clue about this?

I want more details... This is an outrage... This would pretty much make me a repeat criminal with intent for future violation!

Sorry ... Guess I need to be locked away....

Wait ... you said Beer. does this apply to Black Stap because if it does not then I would be ok still.

Does this include rafts?  What about if your kayak is in the raft?  What if you shotgun the beer?

We need some answers, folks.

BUI has been around for a whole, and it does apply to kayaks and rafts.

It would be a interesting pursuit if you failed to eddy out though!

Yo Kyle,

So are you going to on the lookout for violators? I'd sure hate to earn some nightstick time and a day in jail for enjoying a tasty beverage illegally!

I wouldn't use my night stick. It is much funnier to use the taser, and I am all about hurting people in the most humerous way possible. I hope to one day catch a fleeing criminal with the help of a ACME rocket and a set of roller skates, or by dropping a anvil on them!

I have heard of the cops watching boaters, rafters, tubers go past Silica Sands and ticket them at the Whitney Bridge. Never actually seen it though. I did see a cop wade across the river to get drinkers on a gravel bar though, full uniform and everything.

Would you boat without a helmet or a PFD?  I think not.  Safety first there ashley, safety first.

Perhaps they'd like a take-out ice tea, maybe a pink lemonade? Could be the beginning of the state's plan to eliminate the white water community and free up the access sites for real estate.

You're all just worried that you won't be able to run any real rivers with out it. And then I'll be better than you.

Sometimes I drink to forget the swims as I learn, if I had to stop that would seriously hamper my progress.
