There's a party going down to kick of what should be the whitewater season that we all deserve after last year...

Saturday, March 11 Nate and Heather Herbeck out of Hood River will be premiering their new film Liquid Insanity at the Outdoor Adventure Center.  Check out the trailer at http://liquidkayak.com/poster.html.  Premier kicks off at 7:30pm with beverages, music, and food.

Coinciding with the premier we will be hosting another kayak photo contest, submissions to be judged at the party.  We had almost 100 entries for our last photo contest so start sorting through your paddling pix.  Check the link below for submission instructions.

During the day on March 11, we will be holding a gear swap at the shop.  Bring in your old but serviceable boats and gear and maybe raise a little money for that upcoming spring paddling trip or new boat.  I'll post more details on the gear swap in a couple of days.

Overall info for the premier, party, and gear swap can be found at http://www.outdooradventurecenter.com/dept.asp?d_id=18531&am p;l1=18531.

See you there...

Jeff

Photo Contest Rules:

We got swamped at the last party with photo contest entries, so here are the rules:

1.  Any paddling photo is eligible.

2.  Only one photo per contestant.

3.  You must be present to win.

4.  Entries are due by 5pm on March 11 (night of party).

5.  Submit entries by email to info@outdooradventurecenter.com.  Bring a hard copy with you to the party.

Two things of note regarding the Premier...

We will be serving beer... raffle tickets cost $2 and you get a beer with your ticket.

In addition, Nate and Heather made a special request after the horrible accident that befell David DeLavergne recently (http://r.pm0.net/s/c?3pl.fieg.1.bvbg.ka) that we hold a portion of the proceeds from the raffle for a memorial fund.

We will do so, and the money will go to to a fund we anticipate being set up by the good folks at LVM/IR/Penstock.

Thanks everyone for helping us fill the house last Saturday night.  Nate and Heather were stoked.

Between video sales and the raffle we were able to raise over $200 for the Green River (NC) Access Fund.

I am now going to pull out my topo atlas and drool over the Lewis River for a while...
