Anyone interested in a While Salmon run Saturday Aug 6th.  My plan is to drive down Friday night (if your interested in carpooling let me know) camp (I need to do some research to find a good spot, ideas anyone???) and get up bright and early (not too early if we spend the prior evening drinking and telling lies) and enjoy a sunny day on the river.

Anyone interested?

PS Husum Falls is easily portaged so if your comfortable in class III+, your good to go.

Last time, we met up (Friday night) an camped at the Trout Lake camp ground.  There is also lodging in Hood River.

This is a good trip to do over the whole weekend, running the White Salmon on Saturday, and then doing it again on Sunday, or one of the rivers on the Oregon side.

I'm not sure I can stay Sunday, but if I can I'll be into another run.

Looks like this weekend is a go.  I'll be staying the entire weekend and plan on running the White Salmon both days.  I'll be leaving from Kent Friday night around 6:30 and plan on camping at Trout Lake.  Let me know if your interested in carpooling.

I will be leaving from Bainbridge sometime in the early afternoon on Friday, and would be up for carpooling if that matches anyone's schedule.

The trip was great, temperatures were near 100, water was cold and refreshing, and the White Salmon is a super fun river.  Although I'm sure Seafair would have been fun, I'm glad I decided to head South instead.

I don't have the time now, but I'll write a tripe report later.  There is alot to tell...great rapids, a broken paddle  (I hope  Werner can take care of it quickly) and thus C-1 run of two thirds of the river (amazingly I made the rest of the clean, I can't recommend EJ's Strokes and Concepts video strongly enough, those off side strokes saved the day for me ), and some good old fasioned hucking off Husum Falls!
