The sun is out now but recent rains have allowed a couple visual readings on the newly (this season) installed paddlers gauge on the Jefferson Creek take-out bridge. The gauge was purchased and installed by AG (buy him a beer!). Thanks AG!

So far it appears that 1000 cfs on the NF Skok gauge is equal to about 10 inches on the gauge.

On Nov 20 the NF Skok reached approx 2500 cfs and the take-out gauge read 26 inches. This would be high water with the island upstream of the bridge pretty well covered.

On Dec 2 the NF Skok was just over 1000 cfs and the take-out gauge was reading 10 inches.  The upstream island was not covered but some water was over in that side channel. This was a good low-medium flow.

Wood report: There is an old growth that has fallen across the river at the top of Maze. There are some branches hanging off it into the water but you can duck under it. Maybe worth a scout if your first lap of the season. Other than that piece it's all clear.

Any chance you can update the Jefferson page with rapids and locations for us who are not so fortunate? I know f the names

I think there are only two named rapids on the river. The portage and the sieve rapid. Everything else is "that rapid..."

Hahahahaha

I didn't know that the rapids had names until I saw riversup (Russ) posted a wood report last season about the tree in Maze. The new tree is in the same spot almost so I cheated on the name..hehe.

To me the rapids go like this:
put in -->sieve rapid-->Island-->30 feet of flatwater-->portage-->more rapids--> takeout.

I'd say that's the perfect Jefferson description!
I forgot about Island.

Yes Russia hacked it, or maybe them chineese. Either way your goods got gone.

Got on Jeffy a month ago. Clear with two logs that were easy spots and moves.

Finally, let's get some good boating in before either N Korea nukes us or all the Californians come up and drink our mountains dry. I'm Heading back out for 3 months so I'll be hard to reach but I will see a few of you in Chiapas next month.

Game on dude! Have a blast down there. Whatever you do, do not allow Adrian and Brett to cross the streams...
