Ran the lower tye for the first time yesterday with the sky gauge between 9 and 10 feet. This run has been choked with wood for years but it is clean now . It was as low as you would want and perfectly manageable for 3+ boaters. Lots of slalomiish moves to make on around 10 rapids. with pools between. only one has wood in it and it is obvious. there is a sneak line on the left.
 Directions
Drive up foss road over the foss bridge, turn left and follow the river till road leaves the river. this is the putin. takeout is on river left just below confluence with the Foss

Awesome to hear this is back in business. There were some giant logs in this run for a long time. Back when it was in shape we used to sometimes make a day of it by getting a lap on the lower Foss, from the railroad bridge down to the bridge just above Tye confluence and then do a lap on the lower Tye. You can also extend either run by continuing down the Tye river to the US2 bridge just past the Beckler confluence. There's a short section of very nice class 3 to 3+ rapids followed by a mile or 2 of easy class 2 in this section.

Used to run this all the time when I lived in Skykomish. As Mike said, it's a great run on which to practice all sorts of slalom-type moves. And it is very high-quality Class III+ -IV.
It runs very well off snowmelt and not as well off rain, which is why it was low. However, during the spring melt, this run will have plenty of water in it when the Sky is at 5,000 cfs.
You can also run it quite high. My brother and I once ran it when the Sky was at 20,000 of snowmelt. That was fun.
Catch your eddies,
Christian
