Just moved to the Olympia area. Have never paddled in Washington and looking to get my "feet wet" to Washington paddling with an easy II+/III paddle.

Anyone going tomorrow/Sunday on a reasonably nearby river that would allow me to tag along? Experienced Paddler just not in the state of Washington

Would appreciate it if I could join a trip

I'd like to paddle something easish for Sunday.

The SF Snoqualmie is a little low but shouldn't be too scrapy. Just barely eaking into class II+ at these levels.

If you want a little more adventure/scenery, the Lower Green Gorge is pretty pleasant on a blazing hot day. A little scrapy in a couple places at these levels but challenging and some nice smallish surfing with eddy service. You don't see any houses on the run and it gives you a nice wilderness feel. A cavy looking limestone gorge full of potholes similar to what you might find in the East.

The Upper Middle Fork Snoqualmie is tough to beat for scenery more typical of the NorthWest but there's not going to be much shade on the run. If you are looking for heat. This would be the one.

The Clubstretch(Lower Middle Fork Snoqualmie) is more straightforward class II. It's not super scenic but you do get to paddle around Mount Si, then takeout at a cool little farm setting under Mount Si.

Do you have a Discover Pass?

No discover pass as yet. Since I am basically asking to tag along I will go wherever people are paddling. If you are going, I will tag along wherever you would like to paddle. I will need coordinates or directions. Somewhat familiar with the state and general locations but have no idea where put ins and takeouts are.

If you are going, your choice.

Heading out for a bit, will check in later to see your reply

Wenatchee doesn't exactly fit the bill.

To get an idea of logistics, you can look up the runs here on the PP River Pages or the AW pages. Both offer maplets. You have to click around a little to switch it from "topo" style to road style maps I usually cross reference with Google maps. The runs mentioned are easy to find.

If nobody chimes in, I'd say let's wait until morning and see if there's any surprises in river levels and make the decision then. I lean towards the Lower Green Gorge but am open to suggestions.

I am fine with waiting until morning. Not sure how long it will take me to get to whichever river we decide. What time do you want to make the call in the morning? I will pack up the truck and be ready to leave whenever you think necessary.

I really appreciate your posting up and being willing to spend the day paddling.

Looking forward to it.

In my head, I was thinking the headworks or yoyo when you said the green. Does the lower gorge get harder or easier at these low flows? Just trying to figure out how I would do. Thanks!

If you absolutely hate low water, you might not like these levels. It's still class IIish. It channels up pretty well and I know the low water lines pretty well. We can put in below the first couple big rapids easy enough.

Just realized, I left my airbags on the east coast. Got a new used boat this week. Not a big deal but do either one of you have a couple of extra airbags I can use today? Sorry to have to ask
