Boom

Yes it's that time of year again. Rumor has it Ms Robe has changed a bit over the winter and the gnomes are coming out of hibernation.

This year's Robe race will follow the template of years gone past, teams of 2 from T1 to above Magic Carpet. Race date is set for Saturday April 23rd, backup date for April 30th, and hail mary backup for the following weekend if flows or weather are unfavorable the first weekend. To ensure maximum participation race flow range is 5.3- to 6.0-ft above or below that we'll look to postpone. Racers should be at the TO at 10am on race day.

Teams are expected to provide their own safety but if non-races are willing to setup at a few key spots that is always appreciated and handsomely rewarded. It also helpful to have timing volunteers to hike into T1 and the finish line.

There are a few other things in the works that will hopefully be announced soon.

That's all for now. Happy training and let the smack talking begin...

T-minus ~2weeks...Ms Robe seems in good shape, albeit about a half grade stouter. If you haven't gotten in there yet I'd recommend some training laps to familiarize yourself with the changes...this week flows and weather look to be optimal.

PS - If anyone is interested to help finish line time or set safety, please be in touch. Cheerios

File those FERC eComments boys and girls- there have been some great ones getting posted to the docket recently. I read each one.

Still a drop in the bucket though...
I sure would like to read more from more of you!
Take 5-30 minutes and compose something.

Looking into the crystal ball that is Robe Canyon flow predictions this time of year, the temps, precip, and flow forecast look in the zone. I can't say whether it will be on the high or low side but I'm optimistic Saturday will be a go. As a back-up, Sunday would be the next fall back date. We should know more tomorrow afternoon...

Racers please plan to be at the TO 10am Saturday 4/23. If you not planning to race and willing to set safety we could use some people through out the run. We'll plan to make the final call on the course related to some safety concerns Saturday AM when the flow level is more clear.

Cheerios...
