This is insane... what are they going to try next. Just what I always wanted, a bunch of millitary trucks camping with me at Matheney while jets fly over at 1500 feet

Here's the word from their mouths.... Abundant misinformation about the navy's proposed EW range. It would
occur over national forest system lands designated for multiple use. It
would not occur over oly natl park or designated wilderness. Radiation
would be emitted from mobile trucks parked on FS roads with clear view
of sky. Noted radiation levels would be less than a cell tower. For
humans to experience the said health effects they would need to stand in
front of the emitter for fifteen minutes. Emitter would be located on
hydraulic telescopic pole similar to News truck.
For humans to get this exposure they would need to ignore the
perimeter warnings, take out active duty navy personnel, and then climb
the emitter pole and wait 15 minutes. EMF radiation beyond the safety
perimeter would be less than ambient levels.
The growlers operate today in a designated military operating area
that's been there for decades. Most overflights would occur at 12000
feet.
...Consider the source....

Jesus, can the peninsula just get a god damn break. It's like the new Mecca of bullsh*t. If it's not the five million fishermen with guides trying to kill the last wild steelhead, the Tacoma red necks hunting the park boundary waiting for one to step over the line, the DNR issuing special permits along with the county to rape the river corridor of trees, the hordes of twilight tourists clogging up the place, then it's the military doing a bunch of weird sh*t on and over public land. Wtf? I'm blown away that this little slice of land is under such pressure. It's changed more in the last fifteen years than the last fifty. Soon there will be roller coaster amusement rides through "old growth" forests with a mechanical Mick Dodge zooming around. Someone needs to at the very least tell the military it's not an appropriate place to militarize and play red dawn. Boaters have got to be the lowest impact visitors. Many may be out of touch with the real issues facing the area, but they sure don't trash the place and treat it like a treed Disney Land. The military along with a couple other user groups just need to get the fu*k out! Chris is right on with his assessment that they will be camping, cordoning off areas, and generally on a power trip on YOUR AND MY land. My prediction though is it will go through. Why, cause out here many residents are ultra pro merica, military, and resource extraction. Hell we might even get some money out of it when general whogivesash*t stays in forks with the other brass.
