& lol videos have nothing to do with it. its just an urge. harder always equals better. I claimed my first 5.12 in my first year of climbing.

I understand the necessity of time in grade or experience when it comes to anything life threatening but ive also been flying by the seat of my pants and using the total immersion method for every extreme sport Ive enjoyed allowing me to explore more & more of the world.

Im no stranger to epics & no slouch when it comes to survival skills. ive got my WFR certification, as well as my spi certification & will be practicing safety all winter with a friend who works SAR & is proficient in swiftwater rescue & the like.

Main point is I dont believe In dabbling in anything but rather becoming proficient efficiently by investing as much time as possible from the get go.

If you have any time off this week you should come up to BC Chilliwack, they are doing a slalom coaching thing and allowing some sessions for people in creekboats.  Super nice people.  One of the best things you can do for your river skills, a lot of the people winning extreme races are slalom boaters. $25/class or $40/day for two classes.
