A teenager who was camping at the secret campground fell into the river and disappeared on Friday the 4th - here's a brief news report: http://www.portorchardindependent.com/news/266080181.html. The body had not been found as of yesterday (Sunday), but a cadaver dog indicated it was in the log jam just below Scott's Spot (called CLS in the writeup on this site). We were told he was wearing a black hoody. We looked around a little in the log jam but didn't find anything. Also, it looks like the center rock immediately above the log jam is undercut on the right side, so the body may be under there.
Both the Sheriff's office and the Forest Service law enforcement were very appreciative of our help and of help they have received from boaters in the past. If you should happen to find the body, they asked that you call 911 and show them the location (rather than attempt to recover it).
BTW, if you're camping at the secret campground, the Sheriff and the FS law enforcement seem to be rolling through fairly regularly right now.

Within that article, I just found out one of my students i taught and played bball with for 2 years died in Alder Lake the same day. They just mentioned it in passing.

I am in absolute disbelief right now. I cant believe this is true. I was at his graduation a month ago.
