I have a boating buddy who lives in a private home inside Olallie State Park, and I went over to his place today to play around in the rapid in front of his house, practice catching eddies, etc.  The rapid we messed around in is directly below a pool which is right below an impressive rapid which appears to me to have about a 10-12 foot drop, a stomping hole in it and solidly undercut walls on at least one side.  Wondered if any of ya'll knew if that rapid was commonly run.  Looks pretty nasty to me!

Tried to post a couple of pics, but couldn't figure out how.

Sounds like Weeks Falls. There's a 3 drop series below the bladder dam. From past memory there is 1 or 2 drops that might go but the biggest had some issues with rocks in the LZ.

I think I may know what you're talking about, a sort of horseshoe shaped drop maybe a half mile downriver of the westbound I-90 bridge? I didn't get a very good look at it, specifically I wasn't looking for any major holes or rocks or anything in the landing zone.

Reason being, my friends and I were scouting the river on foot, and didn't realize there were houses there, so by the time we saw the drop we were more concerned about getting off private property and not getting shot for trespassing. So I'd also be interested if it's runnable, and if there's a way to get off the river without trespassing (or going over the falls).

I figured out how to post images. If you open the full message editor (by hitting reply to a post, as opposed to using the mini-editor at the bottom of the thread) you should see a camera button directly to the left of the left of the youtube button, pretty much at the center of the top row of buttons. If you click that it will let you insert photos from your gallery, and it explains how to upload photos to your gallery and how to insert them into a post. Best of luck!

Here are a few photos of Weeks falls, at near opposite ends of the flow spectrum.

Now looking at these pics I may have overstated the danger of this rapid, but it does look pretty under-cut on river left and there was a lot of water flowing out from below the wall after the bridge.

I found this on a northwest waterfall survey, and there's a link there to the falls' page on the world waterfall database, but unfortunately aside from a lat/long there's no information.
