I found a yellow medium Burn at the bottom of the canyon in Robe.

The name on the inside was Briar Freil. Anyone know who that is?

Anybody have a great carnage story?????

Maybe a B.C. boater?
You guys said you found it at the end of the run? Where exactly? Just curious. Mrs. Robinson?

It was actually right where I found Sam's boat a couple years back. Maybe 0. to 0.75 miles from the end of the race course. The river is shallow and you're out of the gorge, the river makes a lazy left turn and there is a decent rock beach on river right. Wood always piles up right here. The boat was snaged in some rocks on the shore from when level dropped out.

Hm. Well if it was a local I'd think we would know. If it was a local Rober I think we'd know. I supposed the boat coulda done some solo swimming on its own from the Wiley Creek section down into our beloved Gnome Sanctuary, but I doubt it.

My guess is that it was a BC boater or other outta-towner. Just surprised no one has stepped forward with first hand knowledge...

"Briar", huh? So, let Dr. Pizzle's laboratory of Whitewater Forensic Specialiats inquire further...

Now these letters spelling the name "Briar"-- how were they written?
Black Sharpie? Paint pen?

Upper or Lower Case letters?

Why does this make a difference, you ask?

Well, if it was all upper case, then without a doubt the name is Briar. However, Dr. Watson- examine carefully. If the letters are lower case, well then perhaps the paddler's name is "Brian". Particularly if the name was written on the left side of the craft. You see, repeated entrance and exit from the cockpit could have worn off half of the "n", leaving behind what appears to be an "r".

Elementary.
I haven't seen the boat I'm just fu*kin around. Watched too much Sherlock Holmes last winter on Netflix.

I just hope its former occupant only had a swim and a good story, and not an injury or too much Epic Suffering hiking out. I hope he or she gets their boat back if its salvageable. Looking back through this thread I see no reports of damage. I thought I'd read that the boat was destroyed.

What kinda shape is it in?

it was in pretty bad shape.. front dented and cracked, stern dented and cracked and a hole in the hull plus outfitting ripped out.  but it floated out ok.... could be someones beater boat if they wanted to put some welding time into it....

Uuuhhh. Dude. The dudes name is probably "Brian". Perhaps part of the "n" has been rubbed off?
