Has anyone self supported the Snake recently?
If so any thoughts or comments on the river?
How many days did it take?
Are there camp spots along it like the Rogue?
Any really dangerous spots?
Just curious! !!! I'd love to hear what people have to say. Also if you have any suggestions of websites to get good beta or sites to see some good pictures that would be great too!
AWW has minimal info.
Cheers!!!!

Assuming you mean Hells Canyon section of the Snake, I have run it many times in the past.

I wrote the beta page for PP for this run, so instead of rehashing that, here's a link in case you had not seen it:

Other resources... John Garren's book(s) has great mile by mile description of the run. I belive it's in both his Oregon and Idaho books since the run is on the border.

There's some fantastic camps on the Snake. You can find descripitons of a handful of them on http://www.whitewatercampsites.com/

And re: number of days...

If you float to Pittsburg landing, you can do that in 2-3 days. If you go to Heller Bar you'll want 5 or 6 days.

WHAAAAAT?!!?? Professor paddle has more states of river descriptions than just Washington? I never knew. Oh man, productivity just plummeted. No work is getting done today.
