Here's a video of my summer, including the lower Elwha dam site first descent (around 5:30).

Nice line on the Dam rapid. Any idea of levels?

I like the video's vibe, very artistic. Good work.

For the lower dam site, the level was around 2600 cfs, so pretty sizable. I heard it looked runnable under 400 recently though, so that's exciting.

Nice eye, n8r78. He did save it right before the main drop.
We peninsulites have the rain watch on for the OP. Come out an join us! We are trying to stay more in touch as a local group through a new FB page and through Olympic Raft and Kayak (http://www.raftandkayak.com/). The new owner is trying hard to become the focal point for paddling on the north olympic p. He as a great set up for camping with showers and cook shelters and would be open to host some rainy season boating groups from the mainland (probably free but I can't speak for Morgan). As a side note, the Elwha really cleared up recently with the water on a steady decline and no new blasting. Lots of salmon sited. The upper dam blasting is starting up again so things will not be so clear for the next few months. I am really encouraged about the new/old Elwha returning early next summer. Silting will be heavy during the removal and high water events. But next summer when the river starts it's SLOW but steady drop I think we will see a dramatically and increasingly clear river throughout the summer and fall.
