Topic: Sunday Upper and Possibly Lower Green Posted: 02 Jun 2012 at 7:27pm |
Hey ya'll! Let's do some boating tomorrow! I would like to run the upper gorge of the Green river. But, I'm considering running the lower green. I know a lot of you class III boaters want to get out tomorrow but you don't want to run the upper. I'd consider running the lower as well if that's something that you're interested in. We can practice flat water cart wheels, wave wheels, different style rolls and even hand rolls. Let me know what ya'll think this.
If we did run the whole stretch, the upper guys would have to start a bit earlier (obviously) and we'll pick a time that we think we would arrive at Paradise to meet the crew that wants to run the lower.

Oh, and here is another suggestion - if any class III boaters would like to run the upper for the first time, I'd be happy to go with you.

I could be into this. For the upper, I'd like to run both the upper and lower, or just the lower. also depends on meet times, i like to sleep in a little bit.
so... definite maybe.

cool! I'm down to run both the upper and meet some guys/gals to run the lower.
As far as scheduling goes, I'm open for whatever and totally flexible. PaddleGirl, let us know what time would work best for you and we'll see if it works for others. thanks

I think it's hard to schedule to meet people in the middle... and i'm down with just running the lower too.
does noon work?

can't sleep.
Okay, it is actually pretty hard to schedule this. But, I think I have an idea. Kiran (or someone else), would you be willing to run a shuttle of the guys who ran the upper from FG back to Paradise?
What we could do is this: The guys who want to run the upper can meet at Paradise and then take care of their shuttles and then run the upper. After they finish their run and if they want to continue - which I do, I'd like to boat with Kiran, it's been awhile - then they can run the lower and Kiran could shuttle us back to fetch our vehicles.
For those of you who want to run the upper, I will be at Paradise at 10. I hope that's not too early, but I don't think that the lower guys want to put on too late. That puts us at Paradise at around 12:30-1:00 to meet with those who want to run the lower.
And obviously, if this doesn't really work for those who want to run the lower, then that will be fine because us who run the upper will be taken care of as far as shuttles go and our whitewater fix

more like 10:30 for me. I'm getting my stuff together now to head out. It takes me about an hour drive from Seattle.

Sorry I couldn't boat with any of you guys. I guess it was a little confusing to meet up. Anyway, Mr. Grinch and I paddled the upper and then surfed Paradise for about an hour.

Yeah, fun run! They opened the gates while we were on the water, rising as we web down stream. I didn't really realize until we hit Parrot Ice, but now that I think about it, the waterfall eddy was a bit unruly, more than it should have been at 1400 (level when we put on). I suppose Mercury was more padded than I would have figured for 1400, too. Didn't think much of it at the time, just making sure to be in the right spots.
Damn I love that place!
