The Northwest Creeking Competition is Sat/Sun, April 21-22, HQ at Sunset Falls Park & Campground on the EF Lewis River in the Gifford Pinchot NF (about an hour north of Portland). This is a fantastic community event fun for all regardless of your paddling skill (or lack thereof...) Check out the website: http://www.northwestcreekcomp.blogspot.com/

Saturday: raft and kayak races on the EF Lewis (class 4+) with great spectating at Sunset Falls, free BBQ, a film, awards, raffle, party, and camping. Many terrific sponsors are stepping up to support the event with raffle items, prizes, BBQ and beer!

Sunday: raft and kayak races on Canyon Creek, WA (class 4+/5), with awards at the take-out.

Race registration can be done online through Next Adventure or Alder Creek Kayak & Canoe, or on Saturday morning at Sunset Falls CG. There is NO registration on Sunday before the Canyon Creek race.

This is an all-volunteer, totally unprofitable event and we need your help! Please let me know if you can help out with safety, or general event stuff like registration/info, race timing, parking, and set-up/clean-up. This year we are hitting up sponsors to help us do something special to recognize the volunteers that make this event possible so this year we can offer volunteers something more than a tshirt and good river karma... stay tuned!
