Has anyone made a correlation with the stick gauge and the now real-time gauge below condit dam? Is the gauge even accurate now or will it need to be recalebrated after they blew the dam?

I know the RT gauge is a ways down stream from the stick and even farther down stream from the Farmlands/truss/middle, but when the snow melt comes perhaps it will be a little more reliable. Anyone got any beta?

just answered one of my own questions. It looks like the CFS gauge is out of commission for a bit but the gauge height is working (which probably isn't in correlation with the husum stick)/

Should be correlated, right? No major tribe.

We just need some timed observations to work out the function...

T'wood indeed.
Rattlesnake and Buck creeks would be your major "tribes".

Disclaimer: sarcasm is about to be employed in the post below

Aside from the mysterious, unique nature of the White Salmon's spring fed drainage, you got the irrigation.

You'd need that real time guage to be where the stick guage is.
Really it would be sweet to have a guage at the Truss that correlates w/ the one in Hussum, but I'm not exactly sure how you would set that correlation.

Honestly, the fact that online flows aren't reliably accessible just adds to the allure, imo. All you need are a few avid boater friends who live down there. Text two or three of them and ussually one can provide you w/ a recent drive-by reading.

BACK IN THE DAY (yup- THE REAL back in the day. Skeptics can skepticize all they wants. FOR REAL.), We called phone numbers that rattled off the listings of river guages as a pre-recorded message. Those who wanted to be more organized about it typed out a list in the order they were rattled off by the recording, had a stack of these photocopied, and sat with phone on ear writing down the values for each river guage, each day that you called.

We've come a long way, got forecast graphs and all sorts of data. Stop acting like a bunch of spoiled brats.

Ok ok, yes, I'm one of the worst "spoiled" brats out there. Still, the Mighty White Slammin Salmon runs pretty much all the time. Just go down there and put on.

And another thing- Get A Job- Jed!

Even stage will be only marginally reliable for a while for the USGS site.  The hydraulic geometry at the gaged section and bed elevation will both fluctuate until sediment inputs stabilize.

The lack of stability in these two things will make developing a stage:discharge relationship difficult.  While the bed appears to have been in quasi-equilibrium for the last month or so, look for it to re-adjust during big runoff and depositional events (which may  occur at different times despite normally being correlated in undisturbed systems).

The Husum stick will be the best indicator for some time.  It's pretty much all I used when I used to run the WS anyways.
