What's the difference between running a river and racing the river?

Experienced Green racer Jason Beakes joins the show to talk about how to race the Green River, what makes it difficult, and takes us through the strategy for each rapid.

Thanks for listening!

You know, I have been thinking we should have races on the Green Gorge here in Washington. It would be a great place for one.

theres a green in Vermont, too. AW just did the first flow study in early October. If all goes well there will be regular recreational releases starting within the next two years.

From what I hear, the nature of the run doesn't really lend itself to racing so that Green can still be the Green.
