   Topic: Ava Pearl

I just wanted to let everyone know here that I am beaming from ear to ear. It's hard to describe the feelings but all you dads out there know what I am talking about. This morning at 1:09 am my daughter Ava Pearl Amandus was born. 7lbs 6oz.

Thanks for all the thoughts, support and love. Were doing great.
Lydia might not want me to put this out there but I have too. She did the whole thing with no drugs, epideral, tylenol no nothing ... well a few sips of water but that's it. I have a whole new respect for her, my mother and basically all women that carry a child. It was amazing and perhaps the most awe inspiring event I have ever witnessed.

Congratulations to the new parents! I can relate to the powerful women in our lives. I watched my wife go through it twice now- no drugs (except I think some Mountain Dew- which we all know is a performance enhancer). The second time she at least knew what to expect... but the first- wow- that birth changed my life (never mind the becoming a parent part- which also had a pretty big impact...).
